Castle Subaru McHenry Supports Home of the Sparrow Donation Effort

Castle Subaru McHenry Supports Home of the Sparrow Donation Effort

Castle Subaru McHenry Partners with Home of the Sparrow to “Stuff the Subaru”

One of the things we recognize as a business in a community is the struggles that some women and their children face. Here at Castle Subaru McHenry, we wanted to find a way that we could help lessen these struggles that these families go through. That is why we came up with this community event where we asked people from all around the McHenry community and surrounding areas to help Stuff the Subaru with clothing and household necessities to donate to our partners, Home of the Sparrow.

We are beyond grateful that we were able to host an event like this and so beyond thankful for all the people that donated. These donations went on to help support these women and their children who are currently struggling with homelessness or in need of basic necessities. Here at Castle Subaru McHenry, we want to help support the people of our community and surrounding areas in any way we can.

Castle Subaru McHenry’s Involvement

Castle Subaru McHenry hosted a donation event called Stuff the Subaru, that went on from July 22-26, 2025. Our goal was to receive donations, like clothing, house necessities, and hygiene products, to donate to Home of the Sparrow in an effort to help support these women and children who are struggling. We also had an option for those who were unable to come to our Subaru store to donate through our Amazon wishlist.

With every donation, we also handed out $10 off Subaru Service coupons to every eligible donation. This was a little way for us to say thank you to all of those who helped us support this cause. On July 26th, there was also a Live Remote hosted by Hannah B. at Free Country Chicago radio station with live music and giveaways.

About Home of the Sparrow

Home of the Sparrow is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping women, children, families, and individuals experiencing or at risk of homelessness achieve lasting stability. Since 1987, the organization has provided transitional shelter, affordable housing, rapid re-housing programs, and supportive services that empower clients to overcome housing challenges and build independent, self-sufficient futures. Through compassionate care and strong community partnerships, Home of the Sparrow continues to create hope and opportunity for those in need across Northern Illinois.

Community Impact and Commitment

Here at Castle Subaru McHenry, we believe that our duty as a business in a community is to not only sell vehicles, but to also help better our community and support those in our community that may be struggling. That is why we do events like these, in hopes to help ease the burden that some people in our community face. This is a true representation of not only Castle Subaru McHenry, but a representation of the whole Castle Automotive Group.

We would like to thank all of our wonderful employees that helped with this initiative. Also a big thank you to everyone who donated in person or online. All of your donations meant a lot and went to help support the women and children in need. We would not have been able to do any of this without all of you who donated. We love having events like these and look forward to all the future events that we will have.
